چکیده
The energy spectrum of nucleons in high-density nuclear matter is investigated in the framework of relativistic meson-nucleon manybody theory, employing the 1/N expansion method. The coupling of the nucleon with the particle-hole excitations in the medium flattens the spectra in the vicinity of the Fermi surface. The effect grows logarithmically for increasing density and eventually leads to instability of the normal state. The validity of the mean-field theory at high density is criticized. ∗Special Researcher, Basic Science Program

Based on the formalism of thermo-field dynamics a new approach for studying collective excitations in hot finite Fermi systems is presented. Two approximations going beyond the thermal RPA namely renormalized thermal RPA and thermal second RPA are formulated.

The optimized δ-expansion is used to study vacuum polarization effects in the Walecka model. The optimized δ-expansion is a nonperturbative approach for field theoretic models which combines the techniques of perturbation theory and the variational principle. Vacuum effects on self-energies and the energy density of nuclear matter are studied up to O(δ 2). When exchange diagrams are neglected, ...

The deuteron axial current is sensitive both to the form of the implementation of relativistic dynamics as well as to the details of the deuteron D state at moderate momentum transfer, making it a natural partner to the magnetic form factor for exploring details of nucleon-nucleon dynamics and associated electroweak properties.

The ∆ decay in the nuclear medium is calculated in the relativistic mesonnucleon model. The delta spreading width is calculated and compared with the Pauli-blocked πN decay width. The influence of relativistic mean fields is also studied. We stress the importance of understanding the delta spreading width in interpreting experiments involving delta resonances.
